We have been working on few big features during past couple of months to provide a better teaching and learning experience for our users. Today, we are happy to share them with you.
Editing course materials has always been an easy and intuitive task with Eliademy, but limited to simple markup. Today we are releasing a new version of our visual editor which gives long awaited in-line images and media, tables, different fonts and colours, indentation, headings, links and improved lists features as simple described in the image above. It also works very well with copy pasting content from desktop office programs. It is powered by the latest release of celebrated open source project – CKEditor.
With the new visual editor, your course material can look as good as an expensive study book. The best part of this feature is that anybody can use it because you do not need to learn HTML or any other markup language to achieve a great course look.
2. Email notifications
The event notification system of Eliademy has received a lot of positive reviews from users. Today we are enhancing it with email notifications to provide more up-to-date options for both instructors and students . It is available for all users via Settings menu and by default it is set to deliver a daily email. We encourage you to personalize it for your needs. For example, as a student, you might want to get email notification about new material immediately instead of a daily notification.
3. New document iconography
With the release of new visual editor, picture and media attachment are now part of course materials. However, file documents are still added as regular course attachment. Based on the feedback we have received from our community of instructors and learners, each document type now has a new colourful and distinctive icons.
We have also made few technical improvements to Eliademy and added support for Opera 15. We have fixed a rare issue with social sign up and polished email invitation experience. We have also updated our conversion and rendering code to improve performance of document previews.
We will be updating our Helpdesk with support guides related to these updates during the next days. We will also appreciate your feedback about these updates as well.
